Marga Ximénez Barcelona, b. 1950

Marga Ximénez (Barcelona, 1950) works with sculpture, drawing and installation, a practice she combines with her roles as a curator and educator. Introducing the concept of heteronomy, she expands the notion of identity and include multiplicity, queerness, the fictive, etc. Central to her work is the notion of care, which emerges prominently in her project “The Trilogy of Privacy”. Initiated in 2004 and evolving over a decade, this endeavor engaged professionals from diverse backgrounds, including doctors and housewives.
